MAT Clinic in Dayton, OH at CleanSlate

Once you’ve made the decision to seek treatment for opioid or other substance use disorders, the last thing you want to do is wait to get into care. Here at CleanSlate, our compassionate integrative care team will assess your needs and, as appropriate, get you a subscription for Suboxone or other medications, many times the same day or the next day after your call. Our Ohio drug rehab accepts Medicaid and most types of insurance.

Here in Ohio, 4.5% of people (or nearly 450,000) reported misusing prescription painkillers. This is higher than the national average of 3.7%. Whether with prescription opioids, heroin, fentanyl, or other substances, our team here at CleanSlate is ready to help our fellow Buckeyes in need.

For those seeking recovery from opioids or alcohol, we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) which can serve as a powerful tool in recovery. Integrated into a care plan that includes behavioral therapy, our team of medical professionals stands by this treatment option because we’ve seen the success it can bring about for our patients.

Our patients come from all walks of life. They are mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers, construction workers building your house, parents of your child’s best friend, and neighbors working at the local coffee shop. Like the staff at our clinics, some of whom are in recovery themselves, our patients are part of our community and our goal is to help them live a life free from opioid or other substance use disorders.

We believe in patients knowing the options available to them for recovery and how exactly they will help. Let’s talk further about our MAT options and the ways they could benefit you in your recovery.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Options at CleanSlate

Finding a facility that is approved to offer MAT is important. MAT is a regulated treatment method that offers FDA-approved medication to assist in recovery from substance use. The medications currently available, such as Suboxone and Methadone, are specifically designed to help with opioid and alcohol use. Here at CleanSlate, we primarily provide Suboxone in addition to medical and behavioral services.

There are only a handful of medications that are utilized in MAT. They each have their own pros and cons and it’s important to talk with your doctor to make sure you have the right one for you. Being informed about your available choices can help you better know what you’re getting into as you go through your healing journey. Let’s take a closer look at the specific medications we offer and how they can help during the recovery process.

Buprenorphine and Suboxone Treatments

Suboxone is a form of buprenorphine that is also combined with naloxone. It is one of the most common forms of MAT medication as it is the most accessible and one of the primary medications we provide here at CleanSlate. It comes in a film form and is taken daily.

It’s important to note that buprenorphine is FDA-approved specifically for treating opioid use disorder, too. Unlike Oxycodone or fentanyl, which create feelings of euphoria, buprenorphine helps block other opioids from interacting with the opioid receptors in our brains. This limits the effects felt when other opioids are consumed. Not only can this help prevent continued relapse, but it can help reduce the risk of future overdoses. With close to 5,000 overdoses in Ohio alone from opioids in the last year, many of us know or know of someone who has lost their life to these substances.

Naltrexone and Vivitrol Treatments

Vivitrol is a form of naltrexone, which is also utilized for MAT for opioid use disorders. Unlike buprenorphine, however, it is not a form of opioid and it is also utilized for alcohol use disorders, too. Vivitrol binds to opioid receptors, blocking out the effects of opioids when they’re in your system at the same time. It also dulls the euphoric effects of alcohol when consumed. Both of these instances can help reduce the chance of continued relapse or potential future overdose.

Vivitrol is a monthly injectable that starts being utilized after the withdrawal period is over.

Common Opioid Use Disorders Treated at CleanSlate

When it comes to recovery, you want a team that is well-versed in all aspects of it. Our team at CleanSlate knows exactly how different every patient’s experience can be with substance use. Each of our patients has unique life circumstances and histories of use. This is why we take an integrated approach to address not just the substance use disorder, but any physical and mental health needs as well.

Here are some of the most common opioid use disorders we see come through our doors.

How CleanSlate Treats Fentanyl Use Disorder

Fentanyl is a fully synthetic opioid that is 100x more potent than morphine. It’s most commonly utilized in medical settings to assist in severe pain cases, like those of cancer patients.

Whether you started with fentanyl as a prescription and are now using it outside of medical advice, or you’ve been taking it illicitly since the beginning, recovery is possible. Our team of experts will work with you to safely address fentanyl cravings and withdrawal side effects while addressing the root cause of your substance use. We believe in having a program that addresses the whole person through integrated care instead of just their addiction when it comes to recovery.

How CleanSlate Treats Heroin Use Disorder

Heroin is an illicit opioid that is often taken via injection, smoking, or snorting. While no level of substance use is safe, the more someone partakes in heroin, the higher their risk of experiencing side effects and withdrawal.

Opioids are known for their strong cravings, which can often lead to people returning to use. We know and understand that. No recovery journey looks the same or is always completely linear. We teach coping skills and address underlying causes of addiction so you can be well-equipped to move forward on your healing journey.

How CleanSlate Treats Prescription Pain Reliever Misuse

There are several different types of prescription painkillers that fall under the category of “opioids.” Oxycodone and hydrocodone are two very common painkillers utilized for moderate to severe pain management. You might know them better by their brand names like Vicodin and OxyContin.

Even when taken as prescribed, there is always a risk of experiencing withdrawal symptoms when stopping the use of prescription pain relievers. Knowing your options and working with our team of medical professionals can help us find the right combination of therapies and treatments to work for you. We believe that therapy should be a part of all aspects of treatment, including MAT, and we’re well-versed in finding the best ways to incorporate it to suit your needs.

We know that substance use comes in many forms, so no matter what concerns you have, our team is here and ready to help you. Utilizing MAT to help address cravings and withdrawals can set you up for success while therapy will help you learn to manage future triggers and lead a life of ongoing recovery.

Alcoholism Treatment Center in Dayton, OH

Alcohol is another common substance of concern at rehab centers for patients. Whether as a solo condition or in combination with other substances, our team at CleanSlate is very familiar with it. Here in Ohio, over half a million people reported having an alcohol use disorder within the past year. It’s very common and seeking support to help you step away from alcohol use isn’t something to be ashamed of.

Here at CleanSlate, our alcohol treatment center offers integrated care to help address alcohol use, its triggers, and more. We work directly with our patients to ensure the program is meeting your unique concerns and needs. We want everyone to be set up for success in their journey towards long-term recovery at our alcohol treatment center in Ohio.

Having the option for medication to assist with this recovery only increases the chances of success. We utilize full transparency so patients know what they’re getting into during recovery. Medication to address alcohol use can help prevent future relapse and also target cravings. We believe that MAT programs work at their absolute fullest when partnered with proper treatment and care.
