He recently spoke with Brian Coonan, regional director of operations, and discussed the milestones he’s accomplished since beginning his recovery journey in 2017. “When I got into recovery, I made a checklist of goals. I went back to school and got my GED, trained to be a CRS and recently did something I never thought I’d achieve – I’m a homeowner.”

Stories from the Field - Shannon PieckCertified Recovery Specialist Shannon Pieck is committed to continued learning and is currently pursuing a Human Services and Social Work degree. “I continue to learn a lot about meeting people where they are. I’ve been in recovery and thought I knew a lot, but really only understood at the micro level. Now I’m learning at the macro level.”
