The votes are in!

I want to thank everyone for their patience as we worked to narrow down the submissions for the new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.  Our Warriors rose to the occasion, and we had a total of 161 submissions which took some time to cross-check for any potential trademark or legal issues.

Once that cross-check was completed, the list was sent to a committee to narrow down to their top five choices. The members included Greg Marotta, President/CEO, Bob Wilson, CHRO, Brent Holliman, Director of Application Development, Wes Cannon, VP Strategic Initiatives, Ellen Alexander, VP of Operations, Maria Scoville, VP of Clinical Quality and Regulatory, and myself

This was a tough decision as we had some excellent suggestions, but the votes are in and we have our winner as well as honorable mentions:

  • In 1st place and the name of the new EMR is: AresThis was submitted by Marisa Nyikos, Center Manager, Elkhart and Warsaw, IN. Ares was chosen as we are Warriors for Hope and Ares was the god of War in Greek Mythology whose counterpart was Athena.  Ares is known for a harsher approach in battle, but as Brent Holliman said, “This is fitting because the disease of addiction is non-discriminatory and it never rests. Those who battle with the disease of addiction are in a constant struggle to stay alive. Treatment options are fairly limited so I don’t care how we have to be to keep the disease at bay. It is worth it!”
  • The 2nd place winner is: Premena, which means “Transformation” in Slovak.  This was submitted by Zander Keig, LCSW, Jacksonville, FL.
  • The 3rd place winner is: Toivo which is Finnish for “Hope” and was submitted by Melyssa Manchester, Center Manager and Kokomo, IN staff.
  • The 4th place winner is:  ViBeta which is Latin is for “Second Life” and was submitted by Daisy Santiago, Center Manager, Pittsfield, MA.
  • The 5th  place winner is: RecoveryPath and was submitted by Maricely Colon, Provider Relations Coordinator, Northampton, MA.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you so much for your participation!  Please keep checking the Warrior Newsletter weekly for upcoming updates about the roll-out.
