On International Overdose Awareness Day, CleanSlate centers around the country united as one to commemorate the thousands of lives lost every year to overdose. Every center approached this observation in different ways that were meaningful to their staff and patients.
For example, staff at the Louisville center created a butterfly wall for their patients to represent the struggle to survive and remain hopeful while battling addiction. The patients and employees also dedicated a butterfly to people in their lives who lost their battle.
The Scranton center celebrated life and gratitude as patients and staff painted rocks for their “Gratitude Garden”. Light refreshments were served and everyone expressed creativity and enjoyed fellowship. The rocks will be displayed in their landscaping for all visitors of CleanSlate to see.
