Philadelphia County Experiences Decrease in Overdose Deaths
Dec 19, 2019
In 2017, Philadelphia had the highest overall fatal overdose rate in Pennsylvania. In 2018, they had the second-highest rate. But the statistics aren’t all negative: last year Philadelphia County was among 41 counties that experienced a decrease in overdoses. The decrease was small but positive. Twenty-three counties reported increases in deaths and three remained the same.
CleanSlate, which first established a presence in Philadelphia in 2018 (see Port Richmond addiction treatment center), has opened a new Philadelphia addiction treatment center at 2300 S. Broad Street, Suite 205, to support patients suffering from addiction and aid the positive change occurring in Philadelphia County. CleanSlate uses an integrated approach to fighting opioid and alcohol addictions using the highest quality, evidence-based practices for drug rehab and alcohol treatment. The center offers medication-assisted treatment and additional medical services such as vaccinations, lab services and medical detoxification.
Even small improvements are encouraging, but we can’t let this modest progress slow our efforts to stop addiction in its tracks, said Brooke Feldman, center manager for CleanSlate South Philadelphia. Every person deserves addiction treatment specific to their unique needs and that’s what CleanSlate is here to provide. We feel passionately about helping residents of this community get help and we’re ready to get to work in our second Philadelphia location.
CleanSlate was founded in 2009 in response to the country’s growing opioid epidemic. Over the past decade, the company has treated more than 53,000 patients in 11 states. CleanSlate currently operates seven centers in Pennsylvania (see addiction recovery options in Mansfield, Pennsylvania).
CleanSlate South Philadelphia is accepting new patients. Those interested should call the center at 833-505-4673 to schedule an appointment. For more information about CleanSlate, visit cleanslatecenters.com.
