Ohio’s leading cause of injury-related death is accidental drug overdose. The state has experienced a nearly 800% increase in drug fatalities since 2000, driven by heroin and fentanyl abuse.
But there is a glimmer of hope: Cuyahoga County led Ohio with 598 deaths in 2017 but reported a 26% decline in 2018.
CleanSlate’s new Lyndhurst addiction treatment center, located at 29001 Cedar Road, Suite 680, is prepared to bring much-needed relief to patients suffering from addiction in Cleveland and the Cuyahoga County area. CleanSlate uses an integrated approach to fighting opioid and alcohol addictions using the highest quality, evidence-based practices. The center offers medication-assisted treatment and additional medical services such as vaccinations, lab services and medical detoxification.
The decrease in overdose deaths is encouraging, but the work isn’t over yet. Ohio is struggling with the devastating disease of addiction and it’s impacting our families, friends, neighbors and coworkers. This touches all of us, said Shannon Schwoeble, center manager for CleanSlate Lyndhurst. We know people need our help, and that’s why we’re here. Our Lyndhurst center will serve Cleveland and Cuyahoga County residents with the treatment they need to overcome addiction.
CleanSlate was founded in 2009 in response to the country’s growing opioid epidemic. Over the past decade, the company has treated more than 53,000 patients in 11 states. CleanSlate currently operates eight centers in Ohio.
