Dear Warriors for Hope,

I am excited to announce a few corporate and regional-level realignments effective January 1, 2019, to best provide the resources every center needs to be successful. I?m confident these enhancements will help us better serve patients and continue to expand access to the highest quality addiction treatment throughout the country. These changes also align with CleanSlate?s leadership model which promotes operational and clinical collaboration to further support local programs and help meet 2019 goals.

Adam McPhee has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer from his current role as President of the East Division for the past two years. As COO, Adam will be responsible for overseeing ongoing and new center expansion operations and have profit and loss responsibility. He will work closely with all corporate departments to ensure CleanSlate?s resources are effectively and efficiently deployed to support our national strategy of creating access and treating patients with the highest quality care.

Adam?s 20-year career in successful strategic leadership, operations, acquisition integrations, team development, and growth strategy in the healthcare industry makes him well-appointed for this position, and I?m excited about what he can bring to the table in this role. Prior to joining CleanSlate, Adam served as Vice President of Operations of the East Division at US Healthworks. During his 10 years there, he held a variety of additional roles including Regional Vice President of Operations, Regional Director of Operations, and Center Manager. Ned Pucek, President of Operations for the West Division, will now report to Adam.

Tracey Cohen, MD will move to the role of Chief Clinical Officer from her current position as Area Medical Director, Eastern MA (Massachusetts). Board certified in Family and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Cohen is widely recognized as a leader in primary care, substance use disorder care, health care integration, chronic pain management and safe and appropriate pharmacy utilization. Her high impact initiatives in these areas have served as regional and national models. She is a physician executive with more than 17 years of experience leading health care organizations to relevant and sustained progress in quality and value addiction treatment.

As CCO, Dr. Cohen will oversee management of medical staff and guide and engage CleanSlate?s Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and clinical staff. She will drive quality and promote clinical effectiveness, aligning care across the company to fulfill payor requirements and wield influence throughout all service lines, while serving as the primary clinical voice for clinical strategy and program development decisions. Dr. Cohen?s direct reports will include all Area Medical Directors, Maria Scoville, Vice President of Clinical Quality and Regulatory, and Jennifer McMahon, Director of Care Coordination.

Both of new these positions will report directly to the CEO. Look for additional communications in early 2019 announcing a few other organizational enhancements to best support our continued growth.

If you have any questions about these changes, please discuss them with your supervisor or feel free to email

I wish you a happy holiday season, and I look forward to a successful 2019.
