Community Partnership Expands Addiction Recovery Options in Mansfield, Pennsylvania
Feb 3, 2020
Addiction is affecting people across the country. Rural areas in particular are struggling with the increase of substance use disorder cases because access to treatment options is typically scarce.
Pennsylvania outpaces the national average rate of opioid-involved deaths, and Tioga County has a severe shortage of substance abuse programs. A recent report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted an almost 17% increase in drug overdose deaths in Pennsylvania from 2016 to 2017.
CleanSlate recently partnered with the Laurel Health Centers in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, to expand local addiction recovery services and help bring relief to the area. The partnership between the providers ensures patients physical, mental and emotional needs are met in one convenient location. The Laurel Health & Wellness Center is accepting new patients, located at 40 W. Wellsboro St. in Mansfield.
?We have seen an outpouring of support since we opened our doors,? said Todd Fausnaught, MD, regional medical director for CleanSlate and provider at the new Laurel Health and Wellness Center. ?Many patients had previously been traveling up to an hour for treatment, and we are grateful to partner closely with the Laurel Health Centers to bring medication-assisted treatment options to those in need closer to home.?
CleanSlate offers medication-assisted treatment and behavioral health therapies to fight opioid and alcohol addictions using the highest quality, evidence-based practices.
