The goal of the presentation was to:
- Describe existing and emerging patterns of HCV prevalence in people with co-occurring SUD.
- Describe a model for the integration of HCV treatment into SUD treatment and how such integration improves outcomes not only for HCV but also for SUD.
- Describe how to integrate such a clinical initiative across multiple centers with mid-level providers as clinical champions.
According to Healthcare Made Practical, “The Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit is the largest national collaboration of professionals from local, state, and federal agencies, business, academia, treatment providers, and allied communities impacted by prescription drug abuse and heroin use. It is the event for decision makers and allied professionals working to address this public health emergency. It is where solutions are formulated, stakeholders from Federal to family convene, and change begins. It is the annual gathering for stakeholders to discuss what’s working in prevention and treatment.”
“It’s inspiring to see the diversity of organizations and stakeholders that are committed to addressing the epidemic; coming together with equipment and innovation to move the needle. The importance of what we’re doing was underscored several times throughout the course of three days by the steady stream of people stopping by our booth and continuously asking us to open centers in their states.” – Anthony Belott, Chief Development Officer
