CleanSlate Adds Three Addiction Treatment Centers in Massachusetts
Jan 8, 2020
Cape Cod residents now have expanded addiction treatment options. CleanSlate recently acquired three new centers in Hyannis, Falmouth and Wareham, Massachusetts, from Hyannis Family Medical Care, which will continue providing primary care services in Mashpee as Mashpee Family Medicine.
The centers recently reopened under the CleanSlate name and retain some of the staff previously employed by Hyannis Family Medical Care. This brings the total number of CleanSlate locations in Massachusetts to 18, impacting close to 6,000 lives monthly. In their respective cities, CleanSlate Hyannis is located at 68 Camp Street, Unit 1; CleanSlate Falmouth is located at 15B Carlson Lane, Falmouth, MA. 02540; and CleanSlate Wareham is located at 40 Church Avenue, Suite 202. We are excited to build on the good work the team at Hyannis Family Medical Care has been doing in this community for the past few years, said Dr. Tracey Cohen, chief clinical officer for CleanSlate. These three locations offer the perfect opportunity to expand upon the addiction treatment programs that were already in place while bringing additional care resources to the community, such as ambulatory detox and Hepatitis A, B and flu vaccinations.
Massachusetts ranks among the top 10 states with the highest rates of opioid-related drug overdose deaths. In 2017 it outpaced the national average rate of opioid-involved deaths, with Barnstable County exceeding the average by nearly 15 and Plymouth County by 20 drug-related deaths per 100,000 people. In the second quarter of 2019, Barnstable County ranked fourth among Massachusetts 14 counties, with an opioid overdose rate of 32.8 per 100,000 (state average is 29.4). We welcome CleanSlate and know many of our patients will benefit from the expanded access to medically-based addiction treatment services, said Dr. Vimal Patel, a physician and addiction medicine specialist at Hyannis Family Medical Care. As health care providers, it is our responsibility to expand care options for our patients, and we are happy to work alongside CleanSlate to help patients improve their lives.
