Scranton’s Center Manager, Alisa Scarantino submitted a quick story to put the limelight on the Scranton team who recently completed their Basic Life Support certification emphasizing that Science and Medicine matter. Thank you to the entire team for living our values everyday!
“Everyone on staff who was not certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) partook in the certification. It is a requirement for medical staff to be certified but, in our Center, we thought it was beneficial for all to be certified. Science and Medicine Matter so We Can Give Patients The Lives They Want and Deserve. It was a good team building experience and we learned valuable information to potentially save a life of one of our patients.
I incorporated the certification into a team meeting/team building initiative, as I thought both were imperative to the continuing success of our center. This meeting bridged a gap between Front Staff, Providers and CC/CRS to help focus on the importance of Care Management meetings.”

Scranton is one of our busiest centers in the country, with over 800 active patients and for the team to make the time for the entire center to complete this certification speaks volumes. The Scranton team is living our values with this initiative and living out several of our values: Science & Medicine Matter, Patients First, Together We Succeed and Everyday Innovation.
Our employees are incredibly busy, but this certification can potentially help save our patients’ lives and we want to say thank you to the entire team for being so willing to participate!
