As you all know, patient privacy is a priority for us every day, but once a year we take time to focus on the key points of how we protect our patients’ privacy under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

  • HIPAA covers a patient’s privacy rights and our responsibility with regard to all medical patients.
  • 42 CFR Part 2 is additional protection for the information of patients with regard to addiction treatment.
  • At CleanSlate, we must adhere to both.

Last Friday, May 24th, all CleanSlate personnel were assigned two training courses in Absorb, one for HIPAA and one for 42 CFR Part 2.  Instructions for accessing Absorb can be found by clicking hereYou will have 30 days to complete these courses.  On June 24, supervisors will receive a list of their personnel who have not completed both courses.

The Annual Code of Conduct update will be going out to everyone via UltiPro the first week in July for review and acknowledgement. Please be on the lookout for this important announcement.

Thank you for your time and attention to this important annual training.  Continuing to actively protect our patient’s privacy is one of the ways we continue to put our Patients First!
