Anderson, IN Creates “Take What You Need” Board to Inspire Providers
Aug 22, 2019
Rachael Stonewall, Center Manager in Anderson, IN, along with Nurse Practitioner Jesse Bleyle, came up with the innovative idea of hanging up a “Take What You Need” board in their center to help inspire and raise spirits among their providers who were feeling a bit discouraged. The board originally featured notes on what was going well for patients but grew to include inspirational phrases and words of wisdom to encourage the whole team, such as:
- “I have the ability to learn new information and find new tools.”
- “No one is more or less valuable than me.”
- “I can ask for help.”
- “I can speak kind words to myself about myself.” “I have gifts to be developed and gifts to share with others.”
“I noticed that out of 30 sayings, 14 were gone on day one,” said Rachael. “This project can grow and develop with some oversight so that perhaps patients can also put cheerful words up for others to take a good word in their time of need.”
